Packages!!

Tuesday 5-7-13
Well, today had been an awesome day! I really don't know what made things different than other days, but today has been great! I got up and went to Dani and got my water bottle back! Yes! Haha I taught my first lesson with the SPE shop and it went pretty well! I passed out empty tape boxes and had the kids open and closed the empty box. When it was closed we shook it and couldn't hear any music. Then I passed out pom pom balls and after feeling the, dropping them and NOT eating them, we put them in the box and made Quiet music. After collecting the PomPoms and practicing our “please” and “thank you” I had a student pass out buttons and beads to fill our music boxes and listen to the loud music. If we had more time in class I collected the boxes and we practiced loud and soft music by hitting hands on the table like red light and green light only loud hands soft hands. I had fun with the lesson but after doing Drama for 6 weeks straight, I think I will forever be in love with that SPE. Lunch was great as usual at Dani and Zoe let the driver know about the post office so Rachelle and I got dropped off at the post office and I got my package!! I had to give the guy my paper and show him my passport to confirm that it was me, but when he came out of the back with a box covered in purple tape with daisy’s I knew right away that was the box for me! My mom is the best.
We made it home and I spend a good amount of time digging through m goodies. I got my TKD uniform which was surprisingly nice to see. It’s weird the things you end up missing but it’s good to know now that if this girl goes anywhere she will need her cap, goggles, swim suit and TKD uniform. I realize now after being out here for two months how much packages mean to missionaries or people living abroad. They are definitely gold and I am very thankful for my mom sending them to me!!! Thanks momma!!
I cleaned and organized my room just in time to head out to Kungfu class! I went down to the kungfu room which is conveniently the building in front of mine in the gym so it’s pretty close and I took class with the high school kids learning Nanchaku as well. I have already surpassed them and have their form down so Lee gives me a task to practice and then teaches his class and will come around and help me when I need it. Today we decided to go outside and practice on an empty basketball court because the weather is so nice! I love the weather but I get a little self-conscious of the people walking back and forth watching us as I try to practice because all eyes automatically go to the gimpy white girl trying to figure this stuff out! O well, it’s just another thing I need to force myself to get over. It doesn't matter what I look like or what people think, I just need to do my thing and put 100% into it so I can learn all that I can and get as good as possible.
Lee taught me a new section of a form I think he is making up for me which includes a spot for an ariel... well Lee, here is the deal, I’m no crouching tiger hidden dragon so I’m going to need a crutch on this one. He settled for a one handed cartwheel and sent me back with videos of him at my request so that I can practice it the right way and a spring in my step because I have something new to practice! I wore my TKD pants today and I have a feeling that they are my new “good mood pants” cuz boy have I been in the best mood since the moment I put them on to head to TKD! I walked straight to the roof after saying bye to Lee and started practicing. I practiced and practiced until the sun went down and my arm was ready to give out from all the one handed cartwheels. I don't know if its TKD, martial arts or just learning something new but it has put me on cloud nine and I am not going to come down. I came down after I had been sweaty and shaky from my tired muscles and heard about Drama and things going on at the school and with teaching and I had no idea about it. I am so content with life right now that I didn't really even care that I didn't know what was going on so I just left. I went into my room and I have been journaling my vacation and today hoping that I can start getting caught up! Things are looking up here in weihai. I’m happy healthy and terrific and I am going to be using my new Doterra tonight to make sure that continues!
