today was too legit to quit! Remember how I was trying to not get my hopes up and prepare myself for today to not be as good as yesterday? Well it wasn't necessary. Today was awesome! My school, my kids, our teachers... awesome! There wasn’t a Darling, but lets face it. Im pretty sure that there are only one of those in the world haha. Quite frankly, I dont think the world is big enough for two of them anyways haha
so today, we got up and I met Rachelle at her room and we went down the million steps to meet Kelly at the gate. We were both early like yesterday but I hate being late. Like really hate it, especially when trying to make a first impression with the school. While we were waiting, we talked to Kelly about the Zoo. I don't think I wrote about this yesterday but in Weihai there is a zoo! But this is no Hogle zoo, over here you can pet the tigers, ride the elephants, and get eaten by the bears! Just kidding... about the tigers. ;) no getting eaten but I am serious about the tigers and elephants! You can also feed the giraffes and monkeys etc! So I am totally going! We planned it for this Saturday and paid 168 UN so thats around $25 and that includes the bus there and back which is over an hour ride. But while we were talking to Kelly, about the zoo saturday, cuz it was really cold today and we were trying to see if it was going to be too cold for the zoo, cuz that would totally blow. So she is going to check it out and see if it would be better to change it. Maddie and Hannah came and so did one of the school's workers and they took us to Grimm Kindergarten!

We were a little bit nervous because our head teachers didnt come and neither did kelly, but we had no reason to worry because Julianna, one of the english teachers at the school we are staying at met us there and she was awesome. Its hard to have to branch off from the people we know ie. Kelly, and our head teachers, but now we have another Ally, Juliana was really great! She was very concerned about how we felt and made sure we had good accommodations etc.
After we went in and met the woman in charge, (im noticing a trend here ;) ) we went around the school and saw our places to teach and then got our first group of kids, no wait, angels. These kids are so amazing. I love my students so much! My lesson flowed so well and I really, loved it! I made a million name tags like I said before so I could give my kids names and then I took a picture so I could try to remember who was who. I only get these students once a week for 20min and then Rachelle gets them for 20min and I get Rachelle's first class for 20min.we have 3 rotations like that so 6 classes... I wish I had 12. oh man I love it. I can't remember if I wrote about my lesson, but I have the SPE Drama so I teach by reading a book! Love me some books! (<---- yeah, I teach english) This week I will need to teach Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs but also the BMC names. Names are super important for them to remember. So I brought out my book. And opened the page to snow white in the forest with the animals. We talked about Snow White and how the Snow White on the cover is still the same Snow White on the Page. In this book she is holding a blue bird. Earlier, when prepping my lesson I was trying to find things to use in my lesson and Ben let me use the stuffed bird he brought for his lessons because right now he is doing the SPE gym. ANYWAYS, now that we know the origin of the blue bird haha I would get every student to sit up straight and I would get real quiet and say I brought a friend! “Do you want to see him?!” And start getting into my bag and they would all lean towards my bag straining their necks to see when I would say “oh no, you need to be ready!” And they would snap back to sitting straight up and arms folded. (these are 4 and 5 year olds) then I would bring out my blue bird and jaws would drop! Haha they loved it then we would go around and say “i want to pet the bird” “the bird is soft” but first I would ask “do we eat the bird?” and thank goodness these kids dont know what they eat because as I would try to take a bite out of the bird they would freak! “teacher no!” “no!” then we would all repeat “don't eat the bird!” and thats when we would decide “we pet the bird” “i

want to pet the bird” and then we did the same thing with a giant flower and just so you know, “we don't pet the flower” “we smell the flower” “the flower smells good” ;) but then it was time to say goodbye to “my friends” and they really got a kick out of me doing what my mom used to do to bring my stuffed animals to life by taking the bird and putting it in front of my face and having its wing wave goodbye and say “goodbye friends!” and same with the flower and its leaf! After my friends were put away, I opened the back cover of the book that had all 7 dwarfs ov the back and we went through each one, “his name is grumpy” “he is angry” “i am angry” (everyone shows their angry face) then we would say the same things for happy. My favorite two were sneezy as we all sat around a table and giggled as we seemed like a table full of hypoallergenic individuals in a field of cotton fluffs. But I can't forget sleepy.
Especially after we all stretch and yawn and put our heads on the table like we are sleeping and then I hear a ctue little fake snore come out of one, then two and three students until I was the only one not snoring... have you ever tried snoring with a huge grin on your face and stifling laughter because you are supposed to be asleep?? it doesnt work. But after maybe 5 seconds I would sit up and

I say “wake up!” “wake up!” “you were sleeping” have the class say “im awake!” “im awake!” after we met Snow White's friends we got to meet each other because we were friends like Snow White and the Dwarfs were ;) so we got to pound in “my name is” “his name is” like there was no tomorrow. Did I think they got it? I hope they learned something. And if they didn't, I still came out genuinely loving another 96 students... I think that is what a teacher is supposed to do though. The best teachers I feel like not only teach their students but they love them.
Each class was the same, obedient, respectful, smart and adorable. And by the end I had that lesson as smooth as a baby's bum so I am excited to teach it tomorrow to the Golden sunshine Kindergardeners!

By the end of my 6th class though everything was dry so really it was all good. But then I was able to meet up with all the other teachers and we got to talk about our classes. Me and Rachelle loved it! Maddie and Hannah always say the same things “it was good” so we dont know what that means ha but Maddie was a floor beneath us … let me explain. So its a hallway and thats where maddie was and then a staircase that goes up to the second floor and I was in that hallway. Normally, I wouldnt be cool with being in a hallway but it wasn’t a high traffic area so I was okay with it but Maddie was saying how she would just have her class repeat things she heard my class saying because she was having a hard time getting her kids to talk. Haha oops so either I need to be quieter or someone needs to move...... someone needs to move. So I told Rachelle about their cute snores when she said “thats where they got it!” and she made my day with this...
She said“i was sitting there and I was kinda out of it so the kids came in and I said “i am sleepy” (and put her hands under her head and closed her eyes to explain sleepy) when the kids I just had went “wake up! Wake up!” and here I thought they just had learned english before!”
hahaha DAY MADE! I taught them something!
We ate lunch at the school and it was really good! They gave us these little bird looking eggs and yeah I ate it! It tasted just like a hard boiled egg after you peeled it back, but it was way smaller and looked like a birds egg and when I say that I mean not the ones we get out of our chicken coop! I snuck one into my pocket but then before I could take a picture... I ate it.

well we headed back to the school and by then it was like 12:30 and remember how every Monday and Wednesday we have inservice at 12:00? well obviously we missed it, but what were we going to do? Tell Julianna that she can't stop at the market even though she goes out of her way to drop us off and pick us up at the school? So me, being used to an understanding and personable boss I wasn't worried. I mean they tell us make good impressions and build relationships and thats just what we were doing and no one can dispute that because we all got a Julianna hug as we got out as well as praising about our teaching styles. We walked into their room, said sorry about the inservice thing but then explained how well we did and we were proud this was our second day teaching and we pwned it! Susan, our favorite head teacher said “it was a short inservice I can just recap it for you” And really it took her maybe 3min to tell us what they covered at inservice!
I changed and went out and ran on the track for a while and then come in and fine tuned my lesson plan for tomorrow since I had worked out all the kinks in it with my 6 classes and worked on my ELE lesson some more and then we went to dinner, where I got the worst of news from the head teachers... man im so bummed. Tomorrow Golden Sunshine is doing registration so we aren't going to be teaching... UGH! So instead I am teaming up with Josh and team teaching at the school... -_- ← this is a disappointed face, not my Asian face... Just FYI. Whatever. So we got back to our rooms and the whole group invaded our room and we had 3 lap tops trying to connect to the batchelor and ben's yes the boy in our group got it to work first haha so he made us promise that tomorrow we will watch Psyche with him if he lets us watch the Bachelor... but here is the thing.. we all know he loves watching it haha. We got to watch the finally and right as sean was about to kneel on one knee the computer froze to buffer and all 4 of us girls sit straight up and yelled “NOO!!!” and then the computer started working again! Hahaha it might be one of those “had to be there” moments but I was. And it was so funny! After our bachelor finalle we called it a night. I am bummed about not being able to teach tomorrow :/ but what can you do? Im in China, I can't complain about anything.. so Peace out!
