Oh man my heart is so full! Today was a great day! Even though I could have slept in, at 7:00 on the dot my eyes were wide awake! So I wrote in my journal and cleaned up my desk and all my stuff etc. then Sam woke up and she wanted to run to the Beach! I was totally down until I realized that it was close to lunch time and they dont really run they walk/jog so we wouldnt be back in time and I was lazy and didnt get breakfast because I didnt want to go down to the cafeteria so instead I hit the track and turns out some other teachers including ben and josh had the same idea! So I ran and did some leg work outs and ended up being by myself cuz every one wanted to shower then eat lunch and I am just whatever about showers now ;) and I worked out till Lunch, hit the lunch room, then went back up to get into my room when I realized... sam locked it haha oops! So I had to wait till sam got back to our room from the beach to get changed etc. but meanwhile boy sam taught me how to make this cool bracelet thingy so I was preoccupied and 30min later Sam and the girls came back! So no worries haha I changed and then found myself in Crista and Rachelles room with Sam when we saw the bus came in 15 min and spur of the moment decided, we are goin to the city! Crista wanted more of the sweet potato chips and I wanted to get out so 15min later we ( along with ben cuz josh already left somewhere) were hoping onto the bus! Haha we got to the city and had absolutely no plan other than to get those dried potatoes and then hit up KFC because they have nice clean restrooms. Don't go thinking that the toilets have seats or anything, KFC has nice squatters. Yupp, I have gotten to the point where I don't care if it has a seat or if its a hole as long as there isn't urine smell protruding from the restroom... yikes. What is happening?! I still have the hardest time realizing I am just hoping on the bus to go to the city in CHINA! Im sure if I was in any one else's spot right now I would be thinking “what the heck I am so jealous!” but its become so natural to me and I LOVE it! I love that I am getting so familiar with my surroundings and that I am in love with it! This is my life right now and will be for the next few months and I love it so much!!!
After we got to KFC we wanted to explore the market more and try to figure out this bus thing! We headed over and started walking around and saw so many fun things like squid and stingray on a stick but my favorite was Pumba's
head on a platter next to chicken heads! Haha so funny! I wonder how it tastes... if only I knew how to cook it!! we walked into a few stores and one of them we saw the CUTEST little boy and he dropped his toy so Crista gave it to him and in his cute little voice he says “thank you!” oh my! We about died! Not only was he talking but he spoke english! We were so in love with this kid! We spend a good 10 min just playing with him haha he was maybe 2. after that cute boy we walked up the street to find bus stop for #15!! yes! We just didnt go far enough last night! We hadn't eated yet so we made a mental not of where the stop was and then went to find some place to eat! We were too scared that if we ate at a weird place. so we decided to go back to our noodle place but first stopped at a shop that was making what looked like doughnuts! We are fat americans we aren't passing that up! ;) we got the “doughnuts” and they aren't doughnuts but they are good and we liked em so I got a few more to bring back to my room so I can eat it for breakfast or for a snack if I am hungry :) we started to head to the noodle shop when I hear TEACHER TEACHER!!! and I see my sweet little leslie (the cute girl in the picture of me and her listening to my headphones) running straight towards me and I got the best hug I have had in so long! Oh man my heart was so happy to see her! I don't teach her but everyday my run consists of jump rope with leslie and her class <3 I love that girl so much! She is such a sweet heart!! I wish I would have brought some sort of USA t shirt or something that I could give as a gift. I really do love that little girl so much and I didn't realize it until I noticed how happy I was to see her at the market! She was out and about getting food with her dad but it didn't stop the full charge forward when she saw me, and I loved it!!! oh my gosh I love these kids!!!
After I said see you later, we hit the noodle shop and I got my yummy food and we sang Sam happy birthday (its tomorrow) and then we hit up the KFC bathroom for Rachelle and then waited till it was time to get to the bus. We wandered to the bus stop and the bus came right on time! we made it home!!! we did it! We figured it out!! BOO YA! Haha I am proud of us and also super duper tired! Goodnight!
