Last Minute Preps!

my computer screen ....now what ?



already the 12th?! I feel like time is slipping through my fingers! Slow it down please!?! today is my last day before teaching and to be honest it couldn't come fast enough! I am so excited to teach! I have been pretty stirr crazy especially in the morning while all my friends are teaching! Haha this morning I started working on my ELE class and I was having a MAJOR struggle. The internet would stop and then the chinese government blocks everything that doesnt have a chinese stamp on it I swear. So luckily my momma was up and I could Imessage her and she got me the pictures and just emailed them to me and that was SO nice!

I headed to the Supply room (another building and up 4 more flights of stairs) to get some string/ribbon for my name tags!But It was so warm outside so I decided to sit out there for a few min and just soak up the warmth. So I am sitting on these one of 1,000,000 steps of this school and I am still so in awe of this whole thing. I am so lucky/blessed that I can't believe it. I love this so much. I am in China. Living at a boarding school. Jump roping with little kids, eating fish, getting lost, lugging water up 7 flights of stairs, squatting on toilets and getting ready to teach kids their first words in English! This is incredible... well I woke up from my day dream to realize that its real life so what the heck am I doing sitting on steps!? I headed up to the supply room and got my things to finish up my lesson for tomorrow and headed back to my room.

Then it was time for lunch so I met my groupies in the lunch room They all swear that they have all gotten worse progressively day by day but I think they are all just being hard on themselves. Besides its just 4 days how are you supposed to be perfect so soon? But what do I know? Ha I haven't even taught. Apparently Ben is a natural.  I hope I don't need much of a transition time so that I can jump right in and teach all these kids everything I can these next 4 months! Lunch was really good though and they gave us ORANGES! I love oranges! They put it on our table with me Crista Rachelle and Ben. Well, Ben and I were silently daring each other to take the last 5 oranges when he reached over and snatched em! Took them all! I tried my best to convince him to give me half but he wasn’t having it... drat. No worries though he put them in his backpack so I just pick pocketed him and took them all and was walking out the door before he realized it Well after lunch we had an in-service meeting for about an hour we have those for the first 6 weeks every Monday and Wednesday. Basically our head teachers just tell us things they have seen and what they would suggest us change and we can talk to them etc. We also got told that we can go to the zoo on Saturday and if a big group goes we can get a bus and get a group rate so for an hour ride and entrance to the zoo its about $25 but in the zoo you can ride an elephant, pet a tiger and all sorts of things I will most DEFINATELY be doing!!! WAHOO I am so excited!!!! AAHHHHHH!!!!

our meeting got out and you guessed it, our room got raided again haha and we all decided that we should get out and head to the market so that we can get snacks etc. we are all running a little low and I just finished off my last supply of starbursts besides this busy body was anxious to get out and about. So we hoped on the bus and headed over and hit the ATM and then got our shopping on! Some of the girls got fruit. But all I needed was my Oreos and Candy I also have found these saltine sorta crackers only without the salt that are super cheap so I get those for when I am hungry and I need to snack on something to take the edge off.

We got all our stuff and half our group wanted to take a bong bong gin its like this 3 wheel car thing and it costs like $1 to get to the car and it fits up to 3 people so split that up and you have pretty cheap and fast ride! But I wanted to get some walking in. so Sam, Ben Josh and I walked back. Sams birthday is on sunday so I wanted to stop in a little bakery to check prices on cakes etc but I have no idea how to order those suckers. Even if they were cheap haha. I really dont know what to get her for her birthday. We are going to decorate the room thats for sure but thats all we got so far.

We got back and went to the supply room because we both needed to pick up some stuff and then I had to show Sam where the copy room was and then we went up to our rooms to drop our stuff off to go eat. And dinner was, yes delicious. I am really adapting to the smaller portions and get full before I finish the food off of my plate which I think is good. Over here they have so much more Vegetables within the meal and it just seems healthier. But what do I know? Ha I cant even pronounce it let alone tell you what is all in it! On the way back from dinner we walked out and Heard the one and only Carly Rae Jepson “Call Me Maybe” haha so yes, we broke out in song dancing all around campus. American we are nerds but we love it. Besides, without the song to get us all hyper and riled up I wouldn’t have fallen up the stairs! Yupp was definitely running up the stairs when I didn’t lift my foot high enough, kicked a step (ouch charlie that hurt my toe!) and couldn’t catch my fall because my hands were stuck in my pockets so Dellany did none other but chop chop timber onto are freaking hard steps... bravo! Haha whatever, it just hurt my arm that I fell on and my toe that I stubbed and my abs from laughing so hard. Classic, Imma be sore tomorrow! ;)

We got back and seriously cranked out the preparations for our lessons tomorrow, my bed was a mess haha I will try to remember to send a picture with it. Not going to lie I am pretty nervous about teaching tomorrow now that it has almost come but I am also so stoked. I can't stop thinking about it! I have redone my lesson plan yet again but I feel pretty confident about this one. But its a good thing because our room got raided again haha it seems to be the new trend. Bored? Eh lets go attack Dell and Sam haha whatevs its all good. Ben got himself a VPN so him and Josh decided we are all going to watch Psyche and I have never seen it so we watched the pilot of that and then kicked them out because I have a big day tomorrow!!! YES!!! :D goodnight yall!
